Across The Pond, A Detroiter In London & A Londoner In DC (With Aimee Carter And Labyrinth Games & Puzzles)

Mon Oct 24 2016

This episode is the fruit of the randomness of life, friends getting married and inviting you over to celebrate with them on the other side of the Atlantic (congratulations again D&S), and the magic of the internet when open-mindedness meet good intentions.

Aimee Carter, YA novel writer of The Goddess Test Trilogy and The Blackcoat Rebellion, was visiting London when she tweeted that she was keen to meet random people for coffee (I know right, Detroiters are insane) and I suggested to do this interview (I don't even remember how I saw that tweet).

When I learnt that I would be travelling to DC this summer, I thought it would be fun to attend some local geeky event. I googled (always google stuff) and found the Geek Nite Out Meetup group which advertised the Monthly Board Game Night at Labyrinth Games. Long story short I took advantage of the opportunity to interview Kathleen Donahue, the owner of Labyrinth Games, and botch up an interview of Evan, one of her friendly and patient employee.

As discussed among other things in our birthday episode, I started The Rolistes Podcast to open a window on the little microcosm of immigrant roleplayers living in London (that's what I call a niche market).

However, when you open a window, or a communication channel, things can suddenly go in both directions. I am very happy the show is offering me an excuse to engage with people from around the World and introduce them to you.

Thanks to the Drift & Ramble and the Epic Film Guys podcasts for their Itunes reviews.

Thanks for the support and your comments. As usual please send me your comments via any of the means below.

Also, as mentioned in the end credits, we are very close ($2) from reaching our second goal on Patreon "English breakfast / Conventions or interviews across the UK".

Feel free to check the description of this goal and those that will follow. I would really like to hear what you think about my ideas for the future of the show.
